Five Acre Pharmacy
A brief inventory of medicinal plants, and their historical use,
found in our western prairie yard in Franktown, Colorado.
We lived for several years on five acres south of Denver
in the "high prairie" - at about 6500 feet above sea level. Our neighbors
offered to mow our yard - but one person's weed is another person's wildflower!
I discovered a fantastic variety of wild plants with incredible histories once
I started looking closely at what was growing right under my nose! Most of the
plants shown here were growing wild - a few I will discuss were purposely
planted.
